Culottes + Leather

Culottes, those bottoms that aren't quite shorts, not exactly trousers, but are oftentimes cut with very full legs to resemble a skirt. However you describe them, one thing is for sure, culottes are currently a must-have wardrobe mainstay.

The versatility of culottes has led their huge resurgence over the past year. Celebrities like Solange Knowles and Rihanna are rocking these closet staples on step-and-repeats everywhere. While these ladies have the greenbacks and connections to afford the most expensive looks available, you don't have to break the bank to look as fabulous in the latest culotte trend. This faux leather pair I am wearing were about $50 from Eloquii, and they look and feel exquisitely expensive.

I can't even express in words how much I LOVE LOVE LOVE these culottes! I paired them with this cable knit sweater that has a subtle hi-lo aesthetic, a cashmere grey and black wrap my wonderful Mom gifted me for Christmas, these awesome open toe sandals and my new Gucci bag (this purse is so hot and reminds me of the styles that came out of the iconic fashion house when Tom Ford was the creative director).
