Lace Love

"When I don't know what to wear, I wear black lace.~ Carine Roitfeld, former Editor-In-Chief, Vogue Paris

In my youth, I used to think lace was for girly girls --- everything I was NOT in my formative years. In fact, the only time I wore lace dresses was when my mom forced them upon me on special occasions like Easter Sunday and weddings. I vowed as a kid that even my own wedding dress would be lace-free, and it was. But over the years, I've come to adore this iconic fashion staple for its mix of class and sexiness. This dress by ZELIE FOR SHE is the perfect combination of both. I love the neck tie detail and the short strapless (unattached) mini dress underneath.

This dress runs slightly big and I will definitely need to have it altered. I find that the sizing for this independent brand definitely varies depending on the garment which can be a bit frustrating. But I really, REALLY like this dress, so I'll spend a few more dollars to ensure a perfect fit.

Hopefully you're all done with your holiday shopping (I'm not) and are looking forward to a few days off next week. Christmas is my favorite holiday (click HERE to read why) and I can't wait to spend this precious time celebrating Christ and enjoying family. I hope you all like this look and are inspired to step outside your comfort zone to try something new!

Love,
