Cocktails With Claire of Fashion Bomb Daily

On this past Saturday, I had the pleasure of spending the evening with some of Atlanta's pretty fabulous people and Claire Sulmers herself, the fashionista and veteran fashion writer behind Fashion Bomb Daily. 

In August 2006, Claire founded the blog The Fashion Bomb, a daily online destination for the multicultural fashionista. From celebrity style to fashion news, trend reports to street style, the blog delivers fresh, engaging content from an informed point of view. With 2.4 million monthly visitors, The Fashion Bomb made Ebony Magazine's 2011 Power 100 List, while Claire was named Black Blogger of the Month by Black Enterprise, and was dubbed Blogger of the Moment by Teen Vogue. Claire's editorial work, which focuses on fashion, beauty, and health, has appeared in Real Simple, Newsweek, New York, and Essence magazines and on the websites of Paris and Italian Vogue. To say the least, she's a pretty fabulous woman.

Cocktails With Claire is an event curated by the fashionista that provides an opportunity for fashion lovers and trendsetters to mix and mingle with each other and Claire, while sipping on signature cocktails, enjoying small bites and of course, SHOPPING! The Atlanta edition was held at the B Loft, an event space that was the perfect backdrop to the event. Several vendors, including Glampop and Duckie Confetti, offered their stylish products -- everything from chic dresses, luxury handbags and shoes, and fur caps, coats and collars.

There was also a panel discussion about breaking into the fashion business featuring Claire, celebrity makeup artist LaTasha Wright, celebrity photographer and director Derek Blanks, celebrity stylist Daniel Hawkins, and reality personality and one of the best dressed women on the scene, the oh so fab Marlo Hampton. Marlo's sense of style never ever ceases to amaze me. The girl is B.A.D. The panel was moderated by Tami, from Talking With Tami.

I got the opportunity to chat with Claire a couple of times and she was very complimentary of my look, and my feature as Fashion Bombshell of the Day in November. She shared that her readers loved my looks featured on the site and how complimentary they were of my style. I was flattered to say the least. Commenters on the site can be awfully critical sometimes. I survived the lion's den.
