Unabashedly youthful and girly, gingham isn't just for the kids and table cloths anymore. For me, the grid-like pattern that defines gingham print is sometimes synonymous with picnic tables and 4th of July BBQs, and associated with the arrival of summertime. With that in mind, I thought this whimsical top, with its hi-low design and ruffled layers, would be a perfect addition to my summer fashion staples.
Gingham was a featured fabric on runways worldwide in 2015. It was everywhere, from Michael Kors to Bottega Veneta to Oscar de la Renta, and is finally making its way to us regular folks and fashionistas. A gingham print top is flattering on all figures and pairs well with denim. I wanted to add subtle pops of color to this look, so I added white kneed-ripped jeans, a bright yellow clutch, these red sandals that I just adore and my favorite orange matte lipstick. I think it all came together perfectly!
