For The Love Of Kaftans

In my fantasy world, I'm a real housewife with a wealthy husband who fully supports and finances my shopaholic-ism all while I lounge around in beautiful kaftans all day. LOL! In reality? I'm a hard working wife who has an affinity for stylish, fun and age-appropriate kaftans.

This kaftan by Parides was a must have (and a splurge) when I spotted it, along with so many similar beautiful ones at Kyle by Alene Too in Beverly Hills. Kyle's is owned by Kyle Richards, the aunt of Paris & Nikki Hilton and star of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.

I stopped by the store while visiting LA on a business trip, and not only did I find some great pieces, I got to witness the paparazzi stalk Carmen Electra who was shopping in the store at the same time. I'll save that craziness for another day.

When I tried on this bright colored Native American tribal print piece, I knew it had to go home with me. First of all, the fit was great, the colors and print were beautiful, and the center split in the front of the dress coupled with the drawstring detail across the chest added the right amount of modest
sexiness.

Kaftans get a bad rap as they've become synonymous with "Grandma Loungers". But trust me, every girl should have at least one in her closet. The right one though! It has to include elements and embellishments that exude feminine style and versatility.

Remember when Oprah took several of her show's guests on a trip of a lifetime to Australia? She wore a Camilla Franks multi-color kaftan on one of the group's excursions? I've been wanting to get my hands on one ever since. Camilla certainly has the market cornered on stylish kaftans.

This one by Paradis is very close second to Camilla's designs, and I love it and can't wait to get more.

Hope this post inspires you to find a kaftan that suits you and your style!!! Trust me, you won't be disappointed! Thanks for stopping by!

Love,

    1. Thank you Damali! The key is finding kaftans that don't look like house coats!
